Hong Gang Met the president of Washburn University of America

President and professor Hong Gang met Dr. Jerry Farley, president of Washburn University on June 22. Related directors from School of Arts and Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation participated in the talk.

Hong Gang reviewed what has been achieved since the signing of cooperation agreement between the two universities in 2009 and the start of the first exchange and education program to the U.S. During the 6 years from 2009, ZISU has sent a total of 43 students to exchange and study in Washburn University. Hong Gang hopes the two sides could relentlessly strengthen their communication and exchanges, and expand their cooperation in the field of teachers exchanges and conduct deep level cooperation in professional disciplines.

Jerry Farley said that Washburn University welcome ZISU teachers and students to continue to exchange in Washburn University, and support ZISU delegation to have long or short term learning in the U.S., and are willing to promote the smooth development of double degree program and accelerated degree project.

Director of School of Arts introduced the running status, characteristics and International assumptions of School of Arts, and Zhang Baili, the director of International Department of Washburn University, gave a positive response and put forward some specific measures and feasibility plans to further deepen cooperation.

After the talk, Hong Gang and Jerry Farley invited 5 students who will go to Washburn University for exchange and study in August to have dinner together, and had a pleasant exchanges with them.

This year is the 60 anniversary of the founding of ZISU, and is also the 150 anniversary of the founding of Washburn University, thus two presidents exchanged their blessings to each other.
