To meet the needs of teachers and students as well the requirement of training students into comprehensive talents, Zhejiang International University has always taken the course of education internationalization as the main task so to develop the university in an innovative and specialized way. Up to May 2017, ZISU has established partnership with 80 universities from more than 20 countries and regions including the United States, Germany, Spain, Croatia, France Australia, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Chile, Mexico, Equatorial Guinea, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Macao. Through the exploration in new methods of partnership like mutual recognition of credits and issuing diplomats, ZISU has set up almost 70 exchange programs, the majority of which are long-term exchanges programs, scholarship programs, internship programs and study tour programs. Now, ZISU is sending about 200 students to abroad annually and has gained the honor of Chinese Governmental Outstanding Undergraduate Students Exchange Program and Zhejiang Provincial Governmental Outstanding Undergraduate Students Exchange Program.
International students education is developing smoothly, with the advantage of multilingual majors, ZISU is now recruiting international students from Africa, Latin America, Middle Asia and Europe, and is hosting the “Experience China” participants from University of Wisconsin, the U.S. Meanwhile, ZISU is making its own contribution to the promotion of Chinese globally, and has founded the Confucius Institute at the National University of Equatorial Guinea.
