To encourage outstanding students from all over the world to come and study at ZISU, level up the categories of international students, advance the international education cooperation, ZISU hereafter sets up the scholarships and conducts them in an open, fair and just manner, including:

Full Scholarship for New Students (degree students only)

Excellence Awards (e.g. HSK Award, Activity Award, Social Service Award) The quota of Full Scholarship for New Students takes up to 5% of all registered international students. Tuition Scholarship for New Students and Merit Scholarship are further divided into First Class, Second Class and Third Class Scholarships, which respectively account for 3%, 5% and 8% of total students. Vacancy is allowed. The quota of other scholarships is subject to change based on the actual situation.

Prizes and Deadlines

Full Scholarship for New Students WAIVE the first year’s fees on tuition, accommodation (double occupancy), registration and textbooks. REIMBURSE a round-up air ticket with the maximum of 8,000CNY. The visa application fee and insurance is excluded.

Tuition Scholarship for New Students First Class: a 100% tuition waiver in the first year Second Class: a 50% tuition waiver in the first year Third Class: a 25% tuition waiver in the first year

Merit Scholarship For degree students: First Class 8000CNY/year; Second Class 5000CNY/year, Third Class 2000CNY/year. For non-degree students: First Class 1500CNY/semester; Second Class 1000RMB/semester, Third Class 800CNY/semester.

Excellence Awards 300CNY each per time.

Admission for New students is on a first come first served basis. Scholarship and award winners will be released before June 30th and December 30th. Payment will be made to the students’ local bank accounts around late October or late March. The deadline can be deferred. |

Basic Requirements

Full-time students of international nationality with good body and mental health, no criminal records or misconduct.

Only self-funded students with no tuition debt, receiving no other scholarships at the same period, could apply for the scholarships except the Excellence Awards.

Non-degree applicants for scholarships have to complete study at ZISU for more than 1 semester, and will continue to study at ZISU for the next semester except the Excellence Awards.

The Graduating degree students are not eligible for the Merit Scholarship.

Additional Requirements

In principle, applicants for Full Scholarship for New Students should have GPA4.0 on a scale of 5 and GPA3.5 on a scale of 4; for Tuition Scholarship for New Students should have GPA3.5 on a scale of 5 and GPA3.0 on a scale of 4. Applicants of English-taught programs should have TOEFL iBT: 90/IELTS: 6.5(Full Scholarship for New Students) and TOEFL iBT: 85/IELTS: 6.0 (Tuition Scholarship for New Students), or have other proof with equivalent language level. Applicants of Chinese-taught programs should have HSK5 (Full Scholarship for New Students) and HSK4 (Tuition Scholarship for New Students).

For Merit Scholarship: degree students should have completed all the course credits for the past academic year and non-degree students should have completed all the course credits for the past semester. The minimum average score varies with the student category and the scholarship class. And the absence in one semester (including sick leave, casual leave and truancy) should be less than 6 periods.

HSK Award: for any non-degree student who passes Band 4 or above at ZISU. Scoring the same Band for a second time doesn’t count.

Activity Award: actively involved in the recreational, sports, and cultural activities held by the University and the around, and receive certain standing.

Social Service Award: ardent in public affairs, actively involved in social service organized by the University and the around, and have outstanding performance.

After submission, the School of International Education will review first, and the tentative candidate list will be submitted to University Review Board before releasing.

Given that the scholarship winner doesn’t register in time, the scholarship will automatically turn invalid. The one who cheats in application will be disqualified and scholarship be recovered.
