Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU) is the only public higher education institution in Zhejiang Province with the authority to confer master's degrees in foreign languages. Located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the university emphasizes discipline construction, featuring distinctive academic specialties. It has developed an academic system led by regional and country studies, supported by foreign language and literature, education, business administration (tourism management), Chinese language and literature, and applied economics. The university boasts strong comprehensive strength, with 13 teaching units and nearly 10,000 enrolled students. It offers one first-level master's program in regional and country studies, two professional master's programs in translation and education, and six provincial first-class disciplines, including foreign language and literature, regional and country studies, Chinese language and literature, education, business administration (tourism management), and applied economics. Additionally, it has seven national and seven provincial first-class undergraduate programs. The university has achieved remarkable research results, undertaking nearly 300 provincial or ministerial-level research projects in the past five years, including 48 national-level projects, and winning 21 provincial or ministerial-level research awards. Leveraging eight provincial or ministerial-level think tanks, such as the Center for Country and Regional Studies and the Mediterranean Rim Institute, the university provides policy advice on international events, overseas Zhejiang enterprises, and the livelihoods of overseas Chinese, submitting over 200 reports to provincial and central authorities, with 10 receiving approval from national leaders and over 100 adopted by provincial or ministerial-level authorities.

I. Schedule

II. Eligibility
1. Non-Chinese citizens holding a valid ordinary passport.
2. Bachelor's degree or higher (prospective graduates may submit a pre-graduation certificate but must provide the degree certificate before enrollment).
3. Good health and no criminal record.
4. Age not exceeding 35 by September 1, 2025.
5. Language Requirements:
- Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 or above (some programs require HSK Level 6).
- English-taught programs: IELTS 6.0/TOEFL 85 or equivalent (native English speakers exempt).

IV. Required Documents
Applicants must submit scanned copies of the following materials via the ZISU International Student Online Application System(https://zisu.at0086.cn/Login.aspx):
1. Passport homepage (valid until at least March 1, 2026).
2. Highest degree certificate or pre-graduation proof (non-Chinese/English documents require notarized translations; original certificates must be presented upon enrollment).
3. Complete undergraduate transcripts (non-Chinese/English documents require notarized translations).
4. Language proficiency certificate (HSK/IELTS/TOEFL, etc.).
5. Two recommendation letters from associate professors or higher (in Chinese or English, with contact details).
6. Study plan (800+ words, in Chinese for Chinese-taught programs, English for English-taught programs).
7. *No Criminal Record Certificate* (notarized in Chinese/English).
8. Financial guarantee or bank deposit proof.
9. *ZISU Supervisor’s Provisional Acceptance Form for International Students (2025)* (see Attachment 1).
10. *Foreigner Physical Examination Form* (issued by Chinese health authorities, filled in Chinese/English, valid for 6 months).
11. Passport-sized photo (white background, 320×240 pixels, 100–500 KB, JPG format).
12. Application fee receipt: CNY 500 (non-refundable).

- Incomplete or non-compliant applications will not be processed.
V. Application Process
1. Online Application: Register and fill out the form at
https://zisu.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx.
2. Pay Application Fee: CNY 500 (non-refundable, online payment).
3. Submit Materials: Upload all required documents.
VI. Admission Procedure
1. Initial Review: Qualified applicants proceed to professional assessment.
2. Professional Assessment: Written test, interview, or academic evaluation (format determined by departments).
3. Result Notification: Check via the application system; *Admission Letter* will be issued by late July 2025.
VII. Fees and Policies
1. Tuition:
- Chinese-taught programs: CNY 22,000/year.
- English-taught programs: CNY 25,000/year.
2. Accommodation:
- Quad room: CNY 3,900/year/person.
- Double room: CNY 8,400/year/person.
- Single room: CNY 18,000/year/person (utilities excluded).
3. Scholarships:
- First-class: 100% tuition waiver.
- Second-class: 50% tuition waiver.
- Third-class: 25% tuition waiver.
VIII. Registration
Admitted students must register at ZISU in September 2025 with the *Admission Letter*. Late arrivals require prior approval (max. 2 weeks delay; otherwise, admission is forfeited).

1. Insurance: Mandatory comprehensive medical insurance (CNY 800/year).
