School of Chinese Studies

The predecessor of the Chinese Language and Culture College can be traced back to the Chinese Department of Zhejiang University of Education established in 1955 and the College of Humanities established in 1977. In 2011, the school established the China Language and Culture College to meet the needs of global economic development, cross-cultural communication, and society for specialized talents in Chinese language and literature.



School of International Business

The International Business School was newly established in May 2021 and is co located with the School of Entrepreneurship. It has 6 departments, 4 research institutes, and 1 experimental center. The discipline spans three disciplines: economics, management, and science. The college currently has 6 undergraduate majors in International Economics and Trade, International Business, Cross border E-commerce, E-commerce, Financial Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, and 1 joint master's program in International Business. Among them, the Cross border E-commerce major is one of the first majors approved for establishment in China in 2020, and currently ranks among the top 10 majors in Chinese universities in the field of software science; The International Business major ranked first in the Alumni Association's "Business Administration" (Applied) ranking with A++. The two majors of International Business, International Economics and Trade are designated as "provincial first-class professional construction points"; Applied economics is a first-class discipline in the province. With over 2000 full-time students (including international students), it is currently the largest college outside Zhejiang.


School of Culture and Tourism

The School of Culture and Tourism originated from the geography discipline established in 1958, and after several adjustments, it was officially established in July 2021. The college offers three undergraduate majors: Tourism Management, Tourism Management (all taught in English), and Exhibition Economics and Management. There are research institutions such as the Cultural Tourism Service Industry China Foreign Cultural Exchange Research Center (co built with the Ministry of Education China Foreign Cultural Exchange Center), the China Grand Canal Think Tank Alliance Grand Canal International Research Center, the International Tourism and Leisure Research Institute, the Zhejiang Urban Internationalization Research Institute, and the "Important Window" Research Center. International cultural tourism is one of the four key development areas of Zhejiang University of Foreign Languages during the 14th Five Year Plan period. The Tourism Management major has successively been recognized as an emerging characteristic major in undergraduate colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province, an advantageous major in the 13th Five Year Plan of Zhejiang Province, a provincial key discipline in the 12th Five Year Plan, a provincial first-class discipline in the 14th Five Year Plan of the 13th Five Year Plan, and a national first-class undergraduate major construction site in 2020. It is in a leading position in discipline and professional construction within Zhejiang Province. In the alumni association's 2023 first-class major ranking, the Tourism Management major ranks first in the applied national category and has been recognized as the highest A++level. The Exhibition Economy and Management major was selected as a first-class undergraduate major construction site in Zhejiang Province in 2021. The Tourism Management major and the Exhibition Economy and Management major have both obtained the Tourism Education Quality Certification of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.



School of English Studies

The predecessor of the College of English Language and Culture can be traced back to the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Group of Zhejiang University of Education established in 1960, with a history of over 60 years. The college currently has a first-class discipline in Zhejiang Province called "Foreign Language and Literature", and a key discipline at the university level called "Translation Studies" and "English Language and Literature". Offering three undergraduate majors: English, Translation, and Business English, all of which are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites. The English major has two training directions: teacher training and non teacher training, while the translation major has two training directions: translation and interpretation. It is currently transforming and introducing three professional directions: English (language intelligence), English (international relations), and translation (international communication). The college has one university level research institution, including the Foreign Language Education Research Center, one international research cooperation platform, such as the Chinese Foreign Language and Pragmatic Research Institute, and three university level research institutions, including the American Research Center, the Translation Research Institute, and the International Business Language and Culture Research Institute. It also has a national international business English exam training center and a Cambridge LinkedIn undergraduate examination center.


School of Arts

The college has four undergraduate majors and directions: Musicology (Teacher Education), Fine Arts (Teacher Education), Art and Technology, and Art and Technology (Traditional Handicraft Direction). There are also two undergraduate majors and directions: Musicology (Teacher Education) and Fine Arts (Applied Art Design Direction).

The college has six research institutions, including the Institute of Fine Arts and Cultural Creativity, the Institute of Ethnic and Folk Music, the Institute of Art and Design, the Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage Art, the International Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Institute of International Communication of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting. Among them, the Institute of Intangible Cultural Heritage Art is a key research institute at the college level.


College of International Education

In 2010, ZISU obtained the qualification for international student enrollment and officially established the International College in 2012. We recruit and train non academic and academic international students of both short and long term from around the world, and have assisted in hosting the "Chinese Bridge" groups in France, Mexico, New Zealand, Ukraine, and more. To serve the internationalization construction and development of our school, the International College is currently committed to providing professional and high-quality Chinese non degree education for non degree international students, and assisting the English School, International Business School, and Chinese School in recruiting undergraduate degree international students in Business English, International Economics and Trade, and International Chinese Education. By continuously improving management level and education quality, improving management systems, and enriching the nationalities and cultural types of international students, the International College is contributing its efforts to improving the education level and competitiveness of our university's international students, enriching campus culture, and promoting the construction of international characteristic universities.
